When do I replace the Coffee Wood Chew? This depends on your dog's chewing abilities and frequency. If your dog has been chewing it for a few days/weeks then it should start to break down or wear out. Large-sized pieces can be chewed on without any serious risk. However, do make sure to take away any swallow-size chunky bits, as you would do with any other treat or toy to be safe. They do soften upon chewing, which means they don't pose a choking hazard. In fact, they break down into digestible chips - so they're safe and easy on your dog’s tummy!

Small: roughly 13 x 2cm – Ideal for dogs 5 to 10 kgs
Medium: roughly 16 x 3cm – Ideal for dogs 10 to 20 kgs

"Great Boredom Buster"
Posted byAmyon8th Jul 2026My dog is medium to large breed. He’s a serious chewer.. he’s tested out many toys which have not stood up to his love of chewing and big jaws. Because of this we chose the extra large size. (I do suggest buying the size up from what you think your dog would manage to last longer.) My dog loves his stick. Sure it flakes off as he chews, but I expected that being a natural stick… he knows to eat it outside or on his mat to reduce the mess. I love the fact it’s natural so it’s safe for him to chew the softened bits should he want to (he has- without issue… he spits out the bits he doesn’t want). I’d rather this vs plastic chews. This also biodegrades once it’s too small for your dog so it’s safe for the environment too. Good price point as well. I keep one in the car boot for our dog to nibble if he gets a bit anxious or bored in the car on longer drives. Always provide access to water and monitor to ensure safety.

"This is worse than an actual stick"
Posted byFrancescaon5th Apr 2026I bought this fir my 35kg dog. Honestly within 5 minutes the dog ripped it apart leaving very sharp pieces lying around for my dog to swallow. Not to mention the cats and puppy. Thankfully, as with any new toy, I was supervising my dog and got him off it straight away. What a waste of money!
