Description:

Instinctively, moving water is naturally more appealing to cats, encouraging them to drink more. Cats recognise moving water as being cleaner, since moving water contains more oxygen through constant circulation and therefore less bacteria, so it is more readily accepted than still water. Quite simply, drinking more fresh, filtered water results in a happier, healthier cat. That's why the Trouble & Trix Cat Fountain is the perfect way to ensure your cat not only drinks more water, but also benefits from cleaner, great tasting water.

The fountain is designed with an easy to change two stage filter with activated carbon to remove impurities. Replacement filter pads are also available, and it is recommended that the filter is changed every month to ensure fresh, healthy water is always available for your cat. The fountain also features multi level bowls, a built in surface skimmer, a two litre reservoir and high quality, quiet-operation water pump.

Key Benefits:

  • Drinking fountain helps to filter water to offer your cat continuous access to a fresh supply.
  • Activated carbon purifies water from daily impurities.
  • Extremely quiet pump won't frighten your cat.
  • Inbuilt skimmer helps to aerate the water for pure and clean drinking supply.
  • Water pools at differing heights to offer your cat drinking options.
  • Includes 1 x carbon filter replacements.
  • Dishwasher safe.

We have had our water fountain for more than 4 years and it runs 24 hours a day without missing a beat. I strip the pump Down once a month and give it a good clean ( it does get buildup in the pump housing that can restrict flow) our cats love it and this is a great unit. Only going to replace it because the plastic is starting to age but will keep the pump for backup. Would be great if the top and base was stainless steel.

Our vet recommended one after one of our cats was diagnosed with lowered kidney function. Both our cats tended to drink from our swimming pool rather than their water bowls. We've placed it in a different room from their feeding area, as recommended by the vet. I was sceptical that they'd use it, but they love it. I think the water trickling down the weir and the fountain shape is novel and encouraged them to use it. We see them using it all throughout the day. They predominantly use the weir and fountain for drinking rather than the bowl areas. Top tip - keep it out of the sun otherwise algae starts growing. Never happens when it is in the shade. Also, don't skimp on the filters and change them monthly. If algae grows, use a very weak solution of water and bleach through the pump for a couple of minutes. Then put fresh water through it for 5 mins. Thoroughly wash all parts in soapy water and dry them before reassembling them.

Worked beautifully for 6 months but now has decided it doesn’t want to pump. Have renewed filters regularly and change water on a regular basis along with cleaning unit. I’ve had trouble tha past few weeks where it would not start after cleaning. Now it’s stopped altogether. Less tgan6 months old. Rather sad

Our cats took to this immediately and love drinking from it. Easy care - I top it up twice a week and do a complete clean of bowl and filters once a week.

Nice looking, easy to put together and quiet but powerful motor. Unfortunately the drinking pools are not wide enough for a cat to drink without rubbing whiskers on the sides so they don’t drink from it. Not fit for purpose.
