Feeding Guidelines:

*1 cup = 114g (4 oz) Adjust feeding levels to your dog’s individual needs. Puppies, pregnant and nursing dogs may consume more than the recommended amounts per day. Keep fresh water available at all times.
Transition Guidelines: As with all new foods, gradually introduce Addiction over 7 days to prevent stomach upsets. Feed 25% Addiction and 75% of the old food for first 2 days and gradually increase proportion of Addiction over the next 5 days. By the 7th day you can be confident of feeding Addiction for the rest of your pets’ life. It is critical that Addiction is slowly introduced to your pet over the 7-day period. Not following these guidelines may result in your pet experiencing gastrointestinal discomfort or related symptoms.

"Pretty good. But I'll go back to Hills"
Posted byAaron Cooperon20th Nov 2025The 20kg bag is a good deal if you catch it on sale. But it's pretty smelly stuff compared to Hills and Purina. And in conjunction with that, the bags are not resealable. So you have giant unsealed bags that don't fit in many places full of pungent dog food that last months. Bit of a perfect storm that a simple seal would fix. Maybe seals add expense. But it wouldn't be crazy. No complaints from the dog. But then he has never complained about any food. Which means I might as well go for minor convenience and lack of odor. Which means back to Hills.

Posted byCampbell Tobinon9th Sep 2024I've had my American Bulldog (Pluto) on Black Hawk pet food since he was a puppy. First on the large breed puppy biscuits and then onto the adult large breed original. Pluto would regularly have loose stool on the 3rd, 4th and subsequent movements. Now, Pluto has always eaten biscuits out of my hand regardless of whether he's hungry or not. He refused to eat any of the Addiction food when offered it by hand. Uh-oh! We got a fussy guy over here! Undeterred, I persevered with the recommended diet switch plan and although he doesn't eat all his biscuits straight away like he did with the Black Hawk, he does eat his bowlful over the course of the day. Due to the fact he's only ever eaten one brand in the past, I find it understandable that he's not sold on the Addiction right away. But to the main part, Pluto has no longer got loose stool, his condition hasn't changed and he's still got all the energy he would normally have. In summary, I'm very pleased with the quality of the food, and of course very happy with the results from switching foods. Please note that this is my dogs/my experience and you may have different needs and different results.
