Description:

Modern science proves that your dog shares the DNA of ancient canines, like the wolf. Years of domestication and excellent care have turned your dog from fierce and wary hunter to a trusting best friend. Although their tastes demand something of the wild, their diet should provide them with all the nutrition they need to thrive. And that is exactly what they get with Taste of the Wild.

Venison is a highly digestible protein, providing your dog with lots of energy and that wild game flavour. Fiber help support healthy digestion, while the perfect balance of omega fatty acids, legumes, fruits and protein sources make this a well-rounded, nutrient-packed recipe your dog will thrive on.

Key Benefits:

  • Pasture-Raised Venison – Venison, the number one ingredient in this formula, is rich in nutrients and energy, and a highly digestible source of protein.
  • DHA – This omega-3 fatty acid, provided by salmon oil, helps support brain and vision development in puppies, which makes it an important addition to this all life stages formula.
  • Legumes – These nutrient-dense ingredients, including garbanzo beans, peas and lentils, are excellent sources of protein, fiber and carbohydrates.
  • Dried Chicory Root – This source of prebiotic fiber provides fuel for the beneficial probiotic bacteria in the digestive system.
  • Antioxidants – Vegetables, legumes and fruits, including sweet potatoes, peas, tomatoes, blueberries and raspberries, provide nutrients that help support your dog’s overall well-being, while guaranteed levels of zinc, selenium and vitamin E support the immune system.

K9 Strain and Viables Probiotics

Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that help maintain digestive health and support a healthy immune system by keeping potentially harmful bacteria at bay. Just as in humans, probiotics help your dog or cat break down food and absorb nutrients more efficiently. And because 70 percent of an animal’s immune system is housed in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, a healthy digestive system is vital to the overall health and vitality of your pet. Every Taste of the Wild dry canine recipe is enhanced with K9 Strain® Probiotics, and every Taste of the Wild dry feline recipe is enhanced with Viables® Probiotics. These proprietary probiotics were developed specifically for use in our dog and cat foods.

Our Standards

Taste of the Wild is committed to providing the best nutrition at a fair value. This is why every ingredient we use is recommended by a team of nutritionists and veterinarians and sourced through a careful vetting process.

  • Made in the USA: Every Taste of the Wild product is developed and produced in the USA at one of our six state-of-the-art facilities. We source ingredients from around the globe with a focus on ensuring every ingredient is beneficial to your pet’s health and happiness. Whether those ingredients are sourced globally or right down the road from us, we maintain close relationships with all of our suppliers and work with them after a careful vetting process.
  • Unique Ingredients: From unique proteins like pasture-raised venison, bison and beef, salmon and trout, and cage-free turkey and duck to ancient grains like grain sorghum, millet, quinoa and chia seed, the ingredients in our recipes are carefully selected for their taste and nutritional benefits.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensuring your pet is getting the very best requires a level of safety and quality that we strictly abide by. This means we continually monitor the quality of our ingredients, production environment and process.
  • Nutritional Testing: 6,000+ ingredient nutritional tests per month. To ensure all of our pet foods meet or exceed nutritional standards, we conduct nutritional testing on both ingredients and finished product. Over 1,500 tests are conducted on ingredients every week, and over 11,000 tests per week are conducted on finished product. Our ingredient suppliers also employ a variety of methods to ensure nutritional standards prior to shipment.
  • Probiotics: Every Taste of the Wild dry canine recipe is enhanced with K9 Strain® Probiotics, and every Taste of the Wild dry feline recipe is enhanced with Viables® Probiotics. These proprietary probiotics were developed specifically for use in our dog and cat foods.
