Feeding Guidelines:

"Not the highest quality probiotic on the market - but definitely the most palatable - good for lesser digestive issues and appetite stimulation."
Posted byEmilyon28th Aug 2026Fortiflora is not a super high quality probiotic, with just 100 million colony forming units – the low end of probiotic doses. The listing info of 5x108 CFU/g differs from what is on the physical packet I have - and it contains animal digest for flavouring which can worsen diarrhea in some cats. HOWEVER despite this I still give it 4 stars. Why? I tried many, MANY probiotic products for my cat with IBD, and this one was the only one she enthusiastically ate - even if it didn't help her much. Any supplement you can get into them is better than one you can't. For less severe cases of IBD, IBS, and other minor digestive issues - this is a fantastic product and I wholeheartedly recommend it. However if you have a cat with a very severe case of IBD I don't think this product will help your cat due to the low probiotic count. I would recommend Protexin Pro-Kolin+ for more severe issues but obviously consult your vet first before using. I'm posting this lengthy review hoping I can help any other IBD cat pawrents because the lack of reviews did not help me when doing my own research on products. I now use this product more as an appetite stimulant with minimal probiotic benefits for my fussiest cat. It works great for this purpose, and I keep it on hand for any tummy upset - which is also works great for.

Posted byAliceon25th Jun 2026Our 4 month and 8 month old kittens love this stuff mixed into their wet food. It has done wonders to improve their stool consistency - particularly for our younger kitten who is currently on Royal Canin gastro while he overcomes a period of an upset stomach.
