This is an Ideal formula for endurance (highly active dogs), pregnancy and nursing dogs, suitable for dogs of all breeds, ages and sizes. Featuring concentrated nutrition with higher levels of protein and fat that supports increased endurance and rapid muscle recovery, while glucosamine and omega-3 fatty acids support joint health and mobility.
Different energy needs for different dogs
Dogs come in all shapes and sizes and have very different energy needs. For some, it directly results from their size or breed (big dogs = big energy). For others, it could be their personality, profession, or even an energetic owner. High-energy dogs need 2-3 times more calories during their busiest times. Fuelling an active life
Like an athlete, an active dog needs an energy-dense diet to keep them in top condition. PRO PLAN® Performance is high in calories, with 32% protein and 21% fat for long-lasting energy. Protein also assists with muscle repair and recovery after periods of high activity. The formula is easy to digest to optimise your dog's nutrient absorption and, in turn, their performance. Now, you only need to worry about having the energy to keep up with them.
Energy to support new life
While they are pregnant and nursing, dogs also have heightened energy needs. Growing multiple puppies in the space of nine weeks takes a huge amount of effort, and then there's the task of nursing them for another six. PRO PLAN® Performance meets the AAFCO nutritional needs for puppy development. It also contains key nutrients to support your dog while she's pregnant and nursing. The kibble can even be rehydrated and fed to her puppies when they wean from her milk.

Purina Pro Plan Performance is formulated to meet the AAFCO (Association of American Feed Control Officials) nutritional levels for all life stages, including growth, gestation, and lactation.
Feeding Guidelines:
Clean, fresh water should be available at all times.
Using the Feeding Table: To help your dog maintain an ideal body condition, monitor your dog’s weight on a regular basis, making sure that their ribs are easily felt and their waist is visible when viewed from above. Maintaining an ideal body condition can impact your dog’s lifelong health.
Feeding for puppies: Puppies start to nibble at solid food at 3 to 4 weeks old. After weaning, PRO PLAN® can be fed moistened or dry. Refer to Feeding Table.

MAKING THE SWITCH TO PRO PLAN®:
By choosing to feed your dog PRO PLAN you can be reassured that our tailored nutrition will have a positive impact on your dog’s long-term health and well-being. Although you will be keen to see the difference PRO PLAN can make in your dog, please allow 7 – 10 days to transition from their current food. This enables your dog’s digestive enzymes to gradually adapt to the change in ingredient and nutritional content, assisting with the proper digestion of the food and helping prevent stomach upsets.
