Kittens have unique nutritional needs

KITTENS HAVE UNIQUE NUTRITIONAL NEEDS,
AND CAN NOT BE FED LIKE AN ADULT CAT

Just as human babies are fed differently to adults & children, there are fundamental differences between kittens, adolescents, adults and senior cats. We refer to these as "life stages".

Kittens have specific protein, energy and mineral requirements to support healthy growth. Their fragile digestive systems struggle to regulate nutrient deficiencies & excesses, and their small jaws, delicate baby teeth & immature immune systems need special attention as well. Growth in kittens lasts for at least 12 months, depending on the breed & gender.

ROYAL CANIN® Second Age kitten is formulated for the second growth phase of kittens. From 4-12 months old.

KITTEN FOOD BENEFITS

Growth is an essential stage in a kitten's life: it is a time of big changes, discoveries and new encounters.

A kitten's immune system develops gradually.ROYAL CANIN® Kitten helps support their natural defenses through a targeted complex of antioxidants.

KITTEN SPECIFIC NEEDS

Digestive Health
Kittens are still learning to chew, so highly digestible protein and prebiotics are key to supporting gastrointestinal health & function.

Healthy Growth
Kittens eat multiple small meals (10 to 14 per day). High energy, adapted protein, vitamins & minerals help support intense growth periods.

ADAPTED KIBBLE SIZE

A well formulated kibble with the right size, shape and texture is crucial for maintaining digestive and dental health as well as improving palatability.

Immune system support
ROYAL CANIN® second Age Kitten helps support your kitten's natural defences thanks to a complex of antioxidants including vitamin E.

Highly digestible composition
Combination of nutrients and high protein (L.I.P.*) and prebiotics (FOS) to support digestive health and balance intestinal flora.

HOW TO COMBINE DRY & WET EVERY DAY

GIVE 1 POUCH OF
ROYAL CANIN WET PER DAY

WET FOOD:
Soft gravy and jelly textures for developing kittens helps maintain healthy weight & tempt fussy appetites.

ADAPT THE CORRESPONDING
ROYAL CANIN KIBBLE RATION

KIBBLE:
High density nutrients in a texture that provides gentle friction & brushing effect on teeth. Encourage positive chewing habits early on to assist oral health later through adulthood.

FEEDING GUIDELINES

Place the food bowl at the same location everyday (at least 0.5m away from water, and preferably separate room to litter trays) so your kitten can benefit from routine.

Based on your kitten's age & weight, the on-pack feeding guidelines will provide the best recommendations for portions. If you are uncertain, seek veterinary advice.

Make sure your cat has a fresh bowl of water daily so they can remain hydrated and healthy. Cats tend to prefer shallow glass bowls that are full. This ensures water is free from contamination (smells or taint are absorbed in plastic) and that their whiskers can remain dry wile drinking.

My cat likes it. One of the ones she had no problem with. Bit greasy though if you see the grease left on the plate.
