Great product my dog loves his dental balls Vet approved
At his last vet checkup, my Yorkshire Terrier had stage 1 plaque buildup on his teeth and it was recommended that he get it removed by the end of the year. This would have cost hundreds of dollars and required anesthetic, so I was not keen. I started feeding him Hills Dental Care, which he loves (although he does like to hide them around the house). After a month, he had another vet check-up and the vet said that his teeth are ok. No need for a professional cleaning. I am VERY HAPPY with Hills Dental Care dry food. It is now a staple of his diet.
My dog loves the taste of Hills Dental Care bites, he has been eating them everyday alongside his regular food. I like knowing the extra crunching is assisting in his dental care.
I’ve been using this dental care kibble for my dog for a few weeks now, and I’m genuinely impressed. The first thing that stood out was the packaging — it’s really well thought out. It has a tear-off top to open it easily, and then a Velcro-style seal so you can close it properly without losing freshness. Super convenient and definitely better than the usual zip locks. In terms of results, I noticed a visible improvement in my dog’s teeth. Instead of spending hundreds on dental cleaning at the vet, this has actually helped maintain cleaner teeth and fresher breath. It’s a small change that’s saved me a lot in the long run. The kibble size is another big plus. It’s slightly larger, so my dog actually has to chew instead of just gulping everything down in two seconds. It slows him down, keeps him engaged, and I feel like the extra chewing really helps with the cleaning action too.
I have 2 small dogs (4kg each), one chihuahua cross and one mini poodle cross. The dry food cubes are quite big, around 2.5cmx2.5cmx1cm. My chihuahua happily ate the cubes as they were, even taking them as a little treat. My mini poodle was a little more fussy and I had to chop them in half before he would attempt to eat them. If you have very small dogs, I would suggest only getting the Hills Prescription Diet t/d Dental Care dry food if your dog is very food oriented - I’m sure for any dogs larger than mine the size of the cubes wouldn’t be an issue. In any case, I saw a marked improvement in the build up on my dogs teeth, and their breath definitely improved as well. My chihuahua really enjoyed these and got super excited every time I went to the bag to get some. As with most Hills dry food bags, this one has a Velcro closure which makes it really easy to open and the reseal.
