The diet of the native canine was quite simple, consisting mainly of the prey they hunted. A simple, limited ingredient diet offers many benefits. They can be easier for some dogs to digest and may be a good choice for dogs who have experienced sensitivities to certain ingredients.
The fowl your dog's ancestors hunted didn’t live in a cage, so neither do ours. PREY Turkey Recipe for Dogs features cage-free turkey as the first of just four key ingredients, followed by lentils, sunflower oil and tomato pomace which provide antioxidants, omega fatty acids and important nutrients such as DHA. Finally, guaranteed, species-specific probiotics help support digestion and carefully selected vitamins and minerals ensure your dog gets the simple yet complete nutrition they need, without the hunt.
Taste of the Wild PREY Limited Ingredient Diets are inspired by the simpler diets of canines and felines that roamed the wilderness. Taste of the Wild PREY is formulated with a healthy balance of limited ingredients that appeal to your pet’s native desires. In the wild, an animal’s diet was simple, consisting primarily of the prey they hunted. But finding a simple yet complete food for your domesticated canine or feline shouldn’t be a challenging hunt. That’s why we created Taste of the Wild PREY limited ingredient diets: a simplified approach to pet food based on the native ancient diets of dogs and cats.
All PREY recipes provide complete, balanced nutrition and feature our proprietary probiotics. PREY diets contain GMO-free ingredients, with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, and are free of by-product meals and rendered meats.
With PREY limited ingredient diets, you can give your dog the complete nutrition they need and a taste they crave — without the hunt.

For pregnant or nursing adult dogs, we recommend free-choice feeding. Adjust amount offered daily as needed to maintain ideal body condition.
This feeding guide provides a starting point for the amount of food to give your dog each day. We recommend that you keep your dog in ideal body condition and not allow them to become overweight.
The amount of food your dog needs can vary based on age, activity level or other food and treats given, so be sure to work with your veterinarian to determine an appropriate weight for your dog, and to make any necessary adjustments to their feeding.
New to Taste of the Wild? When changing diets, gradually decrease the amount of current food while increasing the amount of new food over 7-10 days. Slow down and extend this rate of change if your pet shows signs of gastrointestinal upset, and seek veterinary advice if this persists or you have concerns.
As pet owners ourselves, we understand what it means to want the best for your pet — and it’s our mission to help you provide it. This is why Taste of the Wild uses quality ingredients chosen by a team of nutritionists and veterinarians. They carefully select the best meats, vegetables, fruits and other select ingredients for each of our recipes to ensure your pet is getting the flavors they crave and the nutritional benefits you want for them.
Family-Owned. Pet-Focused.
Taste of the Wild is, and has always been, owned and operated by one family, a family that owns pets and want the best for them. Realizing the need for a quality pet food that is still affordable, we set out on an adventure to create it — one that was inspired by the idea that no one knows what dogs and cats should eat better than their own DNA. That’s why we call it Taste of the Wild.
Packed with nutrition inspired by nature — with the flavors they crave and at a price you can afford — Taste of the Wild is sure to satisfy your pets’ needs at a value you deserve.
K9 Strain and Viables Probiotics
Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that help maintain digestive health and support a healthy immune system by keeping potentially harmful bacteria at bay. Just as in humans, probiotics help your dog or cat break down food and absorb nutrients more efficiently. And because 70 percent of an animal’s immune system is housed in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, a healthy digestive system is vital to the overall health and vitality of your pet. Every Taste of the Wild dry canine recipe is enhanced with K9 Strain® Probiotics, and every Taste of the Wild dry feline recipe is enhanced with Viables® Probiotics. These proprietary probiotics were developed specifically for use in our dog and cat foods.
Our Standards
Taste of the Wild is committed to providing the best nutrition at a fair value. This is why every ingredient we use is recommended by a team of nutritionists and veterinarians and sourced through a careful vetting process.
