Every single other fountain I looked at had the pump inside the water which would eventually mean it would need a full replacement since you can't properly wash the pump. This fountain is great because of the magnetic mechanism it has to move the propeller inside the tank. You can thoroughly clean all the parts that touch water so your cat will never get sick or drink dirty water. I've been cleaning it weekly and my cat loves it.

The previous cat fountains that I've had require me to take apart the water propeller that comes out to be 4-5 parts. That was very time consuming in itself to clean it. I like how this cat fountain isn't using some kind of water pump which can have bacteria build up overtime. Also I like how this cat fountain doesn't require a lot of minimum water so that I can put less water and change fresh water more often. I highly recommend this cat fountain if you want every part of the cat fountain to be clean without any bacteria film build up.
My two cats are addicted to this fountain. It's so much easier to clean than the previous fountain I had so I feel like the kitties are getting cleaner, fresher water. Plus the motion -activated feature really helps limit evaporation.
