Description:

ROYAL CANIN® URINARY S/O MODERATE CALORIE is a veterinary exclusive dry food specially formulated for adult cats with urinary health concerns.  By helping to increase the amount of urine your cat produces, this specialised diet helps dilute excess minerals that can cause crystals and stones. Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology is used to help lower ion concentration in urine, which contributes to stone formation. With a reduced level of magnesium, this unique nutrition helps dissolve pure struvite stones and help prevent calcium oxalate stones from forming. Plus, it has a moderate calorie content for ideal weight maintenance.

Please Note: Royal Canin® takes pride in ensuring the scientific reliability of all product information. The information in this product listing was true and accurate at the time of publication. However, please note that from time to time, for example due to ingredient availability or a change in sourcing factory within our global factory network for the purpose of ongoing supply, it is necessary to make product changes at short notice, and there may be some delays in updating the information in our product materials.

Key Benefits:

  • Struvite Dissolution. Helps dissolve all types of struvite stones.
  • Moderate calorie. Moderate calorie content to help maintain ideal weight.
  • Urine dilution. Urine dilution makes the urine less liable to form struvite and calcium oxalate stones.
  • Low RSS.Helps lower the concentration of ions contributing to crystal formation.

For a packet that has a Maine Coon on the front, the feed guides are only up to 6 kg. However their customer service email provided an appropriate feed weight for my porky cat. He didn’t really take to these biscuits but the addition of the wet food of the same range helps. The feeding guide takes this combination into account

  • "Moderate Calorie Works!"

Our vet was very clear that our cat needed to lose weight when we adopted him from the SPCA. However, when we fed him less, he would then start invading neighbours houses and getting into nasty fights with other cats (on the hunt for food). We now feed him the same amount using this moderate calorie food and he's now at an ideal weight yet he seems to feel full because he doesn't terrorise the neighbourhood.
