Our rolls are sealed during the cooking process and don’t need to be refrigerated until they are opened (although we recommend storing them in a dry place, lower than 20C)
Any recipe is only as good as the ingredients it contains. Our recipe is over 40 years old and doesn't contain soy or vegetable based fillers, it is supplemented with minerals and vitamins to meet AAFCO international feed guidelines and is suitable for all dogs.

Feeding Guidelines:
It is recommended to start dogs gradually when using Superior Pet Food Co's range of dog rolls for the first time as the product is highly concentrated. Our rolls are sealed during the cooking process and don’t need to be refrigerated until they are opened (although we recommend storing them in a dry place, lower than 20C).
- If feeding as a treat, topper or training reward: Adjust your dog's daily calories accordingly.
- Recommended Daily Feeding for adult dogs: We suggest building up to a full feed size over three to four days.
This recommendation is only a guide and will need varying to control the required condition of the individual dog, their metabolism and lifestyle requirements. Measuring guide is marked on each individual roll for your convenience.

About The Brand:
Superior Pet Food Co. manufactures premium ranges of Dog Food – right here in NZ including Possyum, Superior Chunky, Field & Forest, and Ranchmans dog rolls.
Over 40 years ago Chunky was formulated by three rural Wairarapa lads in the 1970’s – David Topp, Rusty Thomas and Graham Nathan began Wairarapa Farm Meats, their first dog roll was called Topp’s Chunky.
The business grew, and the convenience of a non-refrigerated dog roll (due to the production process) caught on primarily with farmers and the rural sector. The business moved, and their friend (and local Wairarapa legend) Graham Faulkner began producing Chunky Dog Rolls from Cambridge. The business continued to do well, and began to offer a wider range of flavours of dog rolls, then in 2007 ‘Faulky’ retired and sold the business to John Taylor and Paul Larkman – the founding of Fond Foods 2007 Limited.
Soon after this, the Possyum dog roll was born out of Paul’s input and association with a tinned version of ‘Possyum’. Sadly, Paul passed away in 2017 but the legendary Possyum dog roll continues to grow, and the addition of Field & Forest Hypoallergenic continues to expand our range of dog rolls.
Fond Foods also purchased Ranchmans, a business which produces dried bulk dog treats in 2016. This was acquired in 2016 and was originally based in Carterton.
In September 2021, Fond Foods 2007 Limited changed it’s name to become – Superior Pet Food Co. Limited a nod to the Superior Chunky history, and a great look forward to our future.
This logical name change was designed to better reflect what we do here each and every day – make great quality dog foods.
