Hill's nutritionists and veterinarians developed Hill's Prescription Diet k/d, clinical nutrition especially formulated to support your cat's kidney health.
The kidneys filter waste and toxins from the blood and maintain the normal balance of fluid and minerals within the body. As pets age, damage to kidney tissues may occur. This process is irreversible and leads to loss of kidney function. Cats with decreased kidney function may experience loss of appetite and their food intake might decline, which may lead to loss of muscle mass. Hill's nutritionists and veterinarians developed Prescription Diet k/d clinical nutrition to support your cat's kidney function and help sustain muscle mass. In fact, the nutrition of k/d is clinically tested nutrition to improve & lengthen quality of life.

When she was first diagnosed we were told that our cat was in total renal failure and had only days left to live. Now, 8 months later, she is still with us and as happy and healthy as we haven't seen in her in a while. She loves this food, which we give her together with the renal dry food. The vet said we are very lucky that she eats it so happily. maybe we were just lucky? Anyway, awesome product! If you got a cat with renal disease, try and get a pet fountain for them as well. We found she really drinks heaps from it, which helps flushing the kidneys. She is now official in stage 2 on the edge of stage 3 for CKD thanks to all this.
Our 12-year-old boy Blackie unfortunately has no teeth; so pate-style renal wet food is just the ticket for him. We are so glad that these 156g cans are back in the market with a new look. It can be pretty difficult to get cats to eat prescription-diet foods; so, when one works such as this product, we are especially grateful.
This food was recommended by my Vet. Puddy is an older cat with developing kidney problems.. She loves this food and since she has been eating it, her kidney problems have stabilised which is a pleasing result. I will definitely be buying this product again.
