So we’ve been talking a lot about Benebone’s tantalizing flavours that will make your dog go bananas. But it’s time to talk turkey for a bit. Below are some basic do’s and don’ts to keep your dog happy and safe.
The Benebone fishbone chew toy is made of nylon and jack salmon.
The Fishbone features patented ergonomic design. The curved shape allows dogs to pop-up one end and get a satisfying chew going. Deep grooves allow dogs to get a good bite and increased surface area for improved scent and flavour.
Note: Suitable for extreme chewers
Every dog plays differently and, since not all toys are created equal, it’s always best to keep a close watch on your pup in case things get ruff. Supervised play will help toys last longer and most importantly keep your pal safe. No dog toy is truly indestructible, so always remove the toy from playtime if it shows signs of wear and tear.
Small 15 x 5 x 15cm suitable for dogs under 13kg
Medium 19 x 7 x 19cm suitable for dogs under 27kg
Large 21 x 8 x 21cm suitable for dogs under 45kg

So we’ve been talking a lot about Benebone’s tantalizing flavours that will make your dog go bananas. But it’s time to talk turkey for a bit. Below are some basic do’s and don’ts to keep your dog happy and safe.
Chomp, but Don’t Eat:
They’re bursting with flavour, but Benebones are chew toys and are not edible. As any chew toy or bone wears down, it is possible that some of it may be eaten. Depending on the size, amount, and timing of what is ingested, eating non-edible products can cause gastrointestinal issues. Err on the side of caution – if you think some of your Benebone is being eaten, remove it.
Protect Those Pearly Whites:
Benebones are made of nylon, which is a hard substance. Aggressive chewing can cause chips or cracks in teeth and possibly result in tooth loss/removal. Not all dogs have the teeth to withstand aggressive chewing of hard substances such as nylon. Tooth injury is an unavoidable risk when using chew toys of this hardness and durability, such as nylon, natural bones, and antlers. Consider softer products to avoid this risk. Benebones are also not appropriate for dogs that may have compromised tooth strength.
Be a Smooth Operator:
After aggressive chewing, the product can become bristled and sharp. The product in this condition can cause gum irritation, even bleeding. Also, the product could cause abrasion or injury to another part of a dog’s or human’s body. The product can be smoothed with a wood file or heavy grit sandpaper.
Exclusively for Dogs:
We love cats too, but Benebones are for dogs only.
One Size Does Not Fit All:
On each Benebone label, we provide guidance to help you choose a toy for your dog. Our suggestions are for rough reference only. Benebones are not suitable for dogs that weigh more than our recommended suggestions or for dogs that are very aggressive chewers.
Always choose the largest product your dog can handle, even if you have a dog rated for a smaller size.
Our tiny products are indeed tiny. Keep them away from larger dogs so they are not accidentally ingested.
Dog toys with closed holes and irregular shapes have the possibility of getting stuck on a dog’s jaw, paw, or other part of their body. Match up your Benebone to the size of your dog to reduce this risk.
Keep an Eye Out:
A dog’s use of Benebone products should always be supervised. Monitoring and replacement are essential to your dog’s safety.
Replace Frequently:
Watch for wear and replace Benebones frequently to ensure that the product remains whole and intact. Though a rough guide only, Benebones should be discarded if more than a sugar cube’s worth of product is missing. Regardless, the product should be replaced after one month of purchase. Some puppies can be strong chewers.
Keep it Clean:
Keep Benebones free of dog hair and other debris, which can tangle with small pieces of Benebones and create an ingestion hazard.
Allergy Notice:
Benebones are made of nylon and are made in facilities that process peanuts, tree nuts, chicken, pork, fish, beef and wood. In addition, Benebones may contain peanuts, tree nuts, chicken, pork, fish, beef and/or wood ingredients for flavouring purposes. Therefore, Benebones should not be purchased for use in households where a human or pet may have an allergy to nylon, peanuts, chicken, pork, fish, beef and/or wood.
Keep It Off the Dance Floor:
Benebone is a hard toy and can cause injury when stepped on. Keep in a safe place to avoid the risk of a slip or fall, particularly in the dark. Keep in a safe location.
My foxy has only chewed on it for half an hour and it already has multiple sharp bits and I might have to throw it out (bits close to breaking off). No good for a persistent/hard chewer.
These are definitely a hit, my two grand fur babies were very interested in them while I was wrapping them ❤️
My one year old Frenchie had it all of two days and bits were coming off it so had to throw it out...he loved it though
Our Border Collie is extremely fussy with chew toys. Needless to say, we won’t turn back! Our pup loves Benebone! She will often walk somewhere quite and happily chew for ages. Keeps her very entertained. Highly recommend!
