Feeding Guidelines:

Depending on the individual condition, a gradual introduction of the new diet over a few days may be valuable. Feeding small quantities of food several times a day helps to optimise digestion and absorption. 

Fresh, clean drinking water should always be available.

The suggested daily food intake for weight loss is based on the dog’s current weight, average caloric requirements, and a desired weight loss of 1-2% of body weight per week. Daily food intake must be adjusted every 4 weeks. Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets OM Obesity Management can be fed long term for dogs prone to weight gain using the maintenance feeding quantities. In case of hyperlipidaemia the recommended period of use is initially up to two months. 

It is recommended that a vet’s opinion is sought before use or before extending the period of use. 

For each additional 5 kg of body weight, feed an additional 40 g of dry food per day for weight maintenance.

For each additional 5kg of body weight, feed an additional 20g of dry food per day for weight loss. The suggested daily food intake for weight loss is based on the dog’s current weight, average caloric requirements and a desired weight loss of 1-2% of body weight per week. Daily food intake must be adjusted every 4 weeks. 

PURINA PRO PLAN VETERINARY DIETS OM Obesity Management can be fed long term to dogs prone to weight gain using the maintenance feeding quantities. In cases of hyperlipidaemia the recommended initial period of use is up to two months.
