Took about two days for my cat to learn how to use this. Previously couldn’t leave food out as neighbours cats came inside to steal the food, no longer an issue. Takes 4 ”C” size batteries not included. Not sure how long they will last.
I was hesitant to purchase due to the cost, but I have 2 cats. One is too overweight, and the other is under weight, constantly crying for food. The younger one is also quite scared/jumpy when it comes to moving things. Thanks to the reviews from people on this site I purchased the feeder. It took a week but now she knows exactly where her food is and how to get it. I am so pleased with this product it has made my life much easier. I will be purchasing a second one so we can implement a proper diet for the overweight cat as per the vet's recommendation. Definitely Recommend this product. Thank you
Absolutely worth the expense. Just purchased another one so my cat and kitten can eat undisturbed and I know they are both getting their allowance. My 2yo cat learnt after four tries tempting him with treats and 16 week kitten learnt at first attempt. No more stealing each other’s food. Definitely recommend this feeders.
My beloved six-year-old Maine Coon Harry has been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. As I have two Maine Coons I do not want the other one eating his special renal diet so I have bought two of these microchip cat feeders. They were super easy to set up and no problems reading the cat’s microchip. The bonus is that now the dog can’t sneak inside and eat the cat’s food!
Had one of these for a couple of weeks now, I have 4 cats, 3 are very food driven, one is very nervous with people and noises. I'm off on a holiday for a couple of weeks and a someone who currently lives at the house will be staying behind to look after the cats. One thing to note is the nervous cat only likes me. I cant leave food on the ground for him because the other cats will get in and steal the food. Usually before I would put the food down for him where I could supervise, he wont eat when other people are around, he wouldn't eat when I'm not here because we cant leave the food down and he wont go to anyone else. I went away for 4 days and he didn't eat for four days. So because I was worried about him not eating and facing having to put him in a cattery for weeks costing hundreds, I brought this hoping he would learn how to open it and that there is food available at all times for him. He was definitely frightened at first and wouldn't come near the food without treats and meat packs but after about 2 weeks he's learned how to open it himself and hes going in it a couple times a night to eat. I brought the back cover, it completely prevents cats from going up the back. The other cats can scratch at the food but they can't open the flap. The only downside to these feeders is if you have a determined cat push in the side of the entrance and the allowed cat doesn't leave and lets them eat then there's nothing that can stop that. I did see something on amazon reviews about an intruder mode which closes the bowl if another microchipped cat pushes in but none of my other cats are microchipped so I cant say how that works or if its even a thing.
