Malabac Duo Shampoo (Miconazole, Chlorhexidine)

Malabac Duo Shampoo is a specialised veterinary product designed to treat skin conditions such as dermatitis, ringworm and yeast/bacterial infections in dogs and cats.

Malabac Shampoo contains two active ingredients: Chlorhexidine and Miconazole. Chlorhexidine contains antimicrobial properties and is effective against bacteria. Miconazole Nitrate functions as an antifungal agent, effective against yeasts (Malassezia) and ringworm (dermatophyte) as it disrupts the fungal cell wall integrity.

Follow your veterinarian’s instructions and use as directed. Read the product label instructions before using Malabac Duo for the first time.

Wet Pet's Fur: Thoroughly wet your pet’s fur with warm water. Ensure the water is not too hot to prevent any discomfort.

Prepare Shampoo: Shake before use. Prepare the shampoo solution by diluting it with warm water in a bucket. For a 30 kg dog with medium hair length, use approximately 50 mL of shampoo. For an adult cat, use 7-10 mL of shampoo.

Apply Shampoo: While wearing rubber gloves, apply a sufficient amount of shampoo to create a rich lather on your pet’s coat. The amount will vary based on the size of your pet and the length of their fur.

Massage Gently: Massage the shampoo into your pet’s fur and skin with gentle circular motions. Pay special attention to areas prone to irritation or infection but avoid getting the shampoo in the eyes, ears, and mouth. Use a moist cloth on sensitive areas to avoid getting the solution in the eyes. Ensure contact between the toes, base of tail, and around the muzzle, as these areas harbour the problematic organisms.

Leave On: Allow the shampoo to remain on the fur for 10 minutes. This contact time is crucial for the shampoo to exert its therapeutic effects.

Rinse Thoroughly: Rinse your pet thoroughly with clean, warm water. Ensure all shampoo residues are removed from the fur and skin to prevent irritation.

Dry: Dry your pet with a clean towel or a low-heat hairdryer, ensuring they are thoroughly dried, especially in colder climates or for pets with thick fur.

• Do not use it in animals with hypersensitivity to the active ingredients.
• Avoid contact with eyes and prevent the animal from licking during and post-application. If shampoo enters the eyes, flush thoroughly with clean water. Seek veterinary advice if eye changes are observed.
• Do not use it on animals other than dogs and cats.

In rare cases, animals may develop skin irritation and rash. If these occur rinse affected areas throughly with water for 15 minutes and contact your veterinarian.

Store at room temperature. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Keep out of reach of children and other pets.

It is typically recommended to wear gloves when applying this product to your pet. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. This material may cause skin or eye irritation on contact, if skin/hair or eye contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and flush skin/hair and eyes with running water. Wash hands and exposed skin after handling this product.
