Metacam Oral Suspension, containing the active ingredient Meloxicam, is a liquid non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), prescribed to relieve pain and inflammation in cats. It can relieve pain and inflammation post-surgery, acute injuries, and for chronic musculoskeletal disorders, like arthritis.

Metacam 0.5 mg/mL Oral Suspension is a specialised medication designed for the relief of inflammation and pain in cats. It is particularly effective for managing symptoms associated with acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders, as well as post-operative pain from soft tissue surgery. It is also licensed for use in ginuea pigs.

Can Metacam be used for all cats?
Metacam is not for use in pregnant or lactating animals, pets younger than 6 weeks, and animals suffering from cardiac, hepatic, or renal disease.
How is Metacam administered?
Metacam is given orally, either mixed with food or directly into the mouth around meal times.
What are the side effects of Metacam?
Possible side effects include loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhoea, and in rare cases, renal failure or gastrointestinal issues.
How long does it take for Metacam to work?
Metacam starts to work within hours after being administered. However signs of improvement may not be noticeable for a day or two. If no response is seen within 7 days, talk to your vet.
How should Metacam be stored?
Store Metacam below 25°C and discard any unused product 14 days (3 mL pack) or 6 months (15 mL and 30 mL packs) after opening.
