Leventa is a prescription medication that a veterinarian may prescribe to treat hypothyroidism in dogs. In dogs with hypothyroidism, the thyroid gland is unable to produce sufficient thyroid hormone, which is required for regulating metabolism and various normal bodily functions. Leventa contains the active ingredient Levothyroxine, a synthetic replacement for thyroid hormone.
