BestMate Himalayan K9Chew CALMING is a 100% natural dog treat based on an original ancient recipe from the Himalayan region of Nepal. Handcrafted using a traditional cheese making process, this hard cheese chew is a true dogs delight. A healthy snack with an irresistible cheese taste.
Fortified Recipe includes: Chamomile, Honey and Alpha-Casozepine which helps to promote calming and relaxation for your dog.
Alpha-casozepine, a milk-derived peptide, seems to be effective in treating anxiety in dogs and other species suffering from anxiety-related conditions.
Another nutrient of interest is the amino acid L-tryptophan, the metabolic precursor to the neurotransmitter Serotonin. By increasing the tryptophan:large neutral amino acid ratio, the availabilty of tryptophan increases, producing greater concentrations of Serotonin. As we know, Serotonin then plays an essential role in the regulation of mood, anxiety, appetite and sleep, thus L-trypothan has the properties of a neutral anti-depressant.
Studies show that dietary supplementation of tryptophan has promising effects on dog behaviour. DeNapoli (in 2000) reported having moderating effects (with improvements in anxiety-related signs) of a diet with an increased L tryptophan/large neutral amino acids.

"My dogs all time favourite!"

We buy the medium size as he is just over 7kg and it lasts a little bit longer, works well for us. We give it to him as is, he grinds it down & his saliva softens it where small flakes will come off it which he gladly eats. We love that it doesn’t smell & keeps him soooo happy!! We also love that it is hard & doesn’t break, it’s not that kind of product which is perfect for him as he is a chewer. You will need to give it to them whole & let them do their thing. Will highly highly recommend & definitely keep purchasing!! It doesn’t smell, isn’t messy & tastes good to him! & we have followed the instructions a few times to make the cheese puff treat once it gets to its end - a well received, delicious, crispy, cheesy snack which disappeared in seconds. Can’t say enough good things about this if your dog is a chewer!!

Posted byTrish Murrayon13th May 2024The service was great, fast and accurate. However, the product is a complete failure. They are so hard that I had to get a chainsaw to cut the small one in half!! Neither my dog nor my sister's dog could chew the things so there was no effect at all. I still have two left over from the 3 I bought and feel they are a complete waste of money. So, unless your dog has huge jaws and strong teeth do not buy these chews!
