Granulated aquarium staple food in size XXS for neon tetras & other small characins from 1-3 cm. JBL ProNovo range follows the biological species concept for ornamental fish, ensuring your fish can be fed targeted, natural food, species-appropriate, and in an optimal composition.
Would you like your neons, pencil fish and characins (tetras) on the absolute best food? No problem: in the JBL species concept you will find bite-sized granulates for neons (and other small characins) whose composition is precisely adapted to the needs of the fish, including insects: the JBL PRONOVO NEON. In addition to a staple food such as JBL PRONOVO BEL for community aquariums, your fish can also be fed with foods from the JBL PRONOVO species concept. Within the species concept, you can add food specifically suitable for particular fish species or select alternatives for the main food. It’s no problem if, for example, your neon also eats the food for your small barbels and vice versa. It is only important that you offer the right food for each group of fish. Variety is always good!
In their natural habitats in South America, neons live in very nutrient-poor blackwater biotopes and are dependent on small bite-sized plankton. With a protein/fat ratio of 6.5:1, the natural diet of small characin species is taken into account. Their food, mainly plankton animals, is filled with vegetable ingredients. JBL PRONOVO NEON therefore also contains a relatively large amount of vegetable ingredients. The proportion of insect protein fits in perfectly with their diet, as insect larvae form part of their food spectrum.
The right food size: A very important aspect of correct feeding is the right food size for the mouth. It is especially important with small fish species that the animals get the food morsels into their mouths, as they cannot bite pieces off. If you are unsure when faced with two food sizes, always choose the smaller one. Predatory fish species cope much better with larger food chunks, as "too large" food chunks are also included in their food spectrum.
Composition includes: Salmon meal, wheat germs, wheat meal, shrimp meal, rice meal, soy bean meal, insect protein, spirulina, spinach, Mediterranean herbs, yeast extract. Added vitamins and antioxidants.
