Aquarium food sticks in size S for Bettas (Siamese Fighting Fish) and other labyrinth fish from 3-10 cm. JBL ProNovo range follows the biological species concept for ornamental fish, ensuring your fish can be fed targeted, natural food, species-appropriate, and in an optimal composition.
Bettas are generally peaceful aquarium inhabitants and get along with most fish that do not fit into their mouths. Only males tend to be incompatible with other labyrinth fish, and must always be kept apart from other males.
Bettas, and many other labyrinth fish (gouramis, threadfish & paradise fish) would naturally be found in both stagnant and flowing water. They are ambush predators, quickly darting out with their superior mouth to eat insects that land on the water surface etc. They do not eat any aquarium plants and do not need much space if kept singly, but do require a filtered lower-flow aquarium, and are happiest with a few floating plants, and a “weedy”aquarium. If you want to keep females as well as a male, you should need to have several females within a group. A single female would be harassed too much. The best-known species of Bettas build foam nests on the water surface, which are guarded by the male. They prefer soft water and pH values between 6.5 and 7.5.
When feeding your Betta, it is important that the composition is adapted to their natural diet. JBL PRONOVO BETTA as flakes or granulates forms the basic diet, and variety can be offered with JBL Insect Sticks, frozen and live foods.
There is a range of food offers within the JBL PRONOVO BETTA range - Betta Flakes, Betta Grano and Betta Insects. All JBL Betta/Fighting fish foods contain astaxanthin, which gives the fish vibrant colours.
