Vitality Plus can easily be dispensed onto dry or wet food, every day.

A standard dose of 5ml per cat per day helps to ensure your cat will consume sufficient arachidonic acid, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) to maintain good health. For small cats weighing 2.5kg or less we recommend that a smaller dose of 2.5ml per cat per day is provided.

Linoleic acid is commonly found in feeds such as sunflower oil, canola oil and chicken fat, and the diet of most cats is rich in this essential fatty acid. In contrast, diets are often low in the omega 3 fatty acids (ALA, DHA and EPA) which have been shown to have a positive effect on skin condition, heart and brain health and which also help to support a balanced immune response. Unlike some other mammals, cats lack the ability to produce arachidonic acid from linoleic acid and so a source of arachidonic acid in a cat’s diet is essential. Vitality Plus is formulated to provide a rich source of arachidonic acid, helping to ensure that your cat consumes enough of this essential fatty acid.

Intake of the essential omega 3 fatty acids, DHA and EPA, can be low as these essential fatty acids are found in only some foods typically fed to cats. Unlike other animals, cats have limited ability to convert ALA into DHA so providing a dietary source of DHA is essential. The omega 3 fatty acids EPA and DHA help to modulate the immune response and consequently can help to alleviate allergies and skin conditions, helping to improve coat condition and reduce shedding. DHA and EPA can also play an important role in helping to reduce joint inflammation and pain, helping to improve mobility, especially in older cats or those suffering from joint conditions. Specially formulated to include sustainably sourced tuna fish oil, Vitality Plus is a rich source of DHA and EPA, providing these essential fatty acids which are not found in vegetable oils.
